Facility Attendant

Responsibilities

• Support Maintenance Technicians with mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance, including servicing and repairing hand tools and minor floor machines.
• Act as a Qualified Electrical Assistant for electrical safety processes.
• Assist maintenance personnel with installation/removal of equipment throughout the facility.
• Inspect the interior and exterior of the facility to determine upkeep or repair needs.
• Change and maintain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) batteries, keep battery equipment clean and painted, record battery changes, and submit records at shift end.
• Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot Label Tec Printers.
• Operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic tools, and welders.
• Construct or repair assets, including assembling furniture, building shelving or racks, and repairing workbenches using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills as required.
• Perform plumbing tasks such as installing or repairing faucets and landscape sprinklers, and clean stopped drains and sumps.
• Complete painting, drywall repairs, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacement.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs such as pest control and HVAC, and update related records.
• Remove cardboard bales from bailers, clear trash using large portable dumpsters, and maintain clean and orderly building grounds.
• Operate snow removal equipment to keep walks, roads, and parking lots clear.
• Drive Target owned vehicles for yard cleanup, incident response, vendor escorting, and transporting parts and materials.
• Operate all power equipment safely, use safe lifting techniques, and promptly clean spills to reduce accident risk.
• Complete paperwork or requisitions for materials, keep daily work order logs, and use handheld devices and mobile apps to create and close Work Orders with labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used.
• Follow safety procedures, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Lock Out/Tag Out and Arc Flash, and maintain a safe work environment by eliminating hazards.
• F&B Only:
  Execute sanitation and maintenance standards that support the health of industrial ammonia refrigeration.

• Valid driver’s license for the state of employment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• F&B Only:
  Comfortable working in a temperature‑controlled environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic math skills.
• Certification to operate all power equipment.
• Ability to use maintenance tools such as saws and drills.
• Read and understand labels, tickets, and instructions.
• Work with minimal supervision and self‑motivate.

Lifting and carrying merchandise up to 47 lbs. regularly, and up to 60 lbs. infrequently; moving throughout the site for 10‑12 hours per shift; working in temperatures below freezing (Food Distribution Center only); operating in small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long periods, and on wet or uneven surfaces; walking on conveyor crossovers and reaching mezzanine platforms;

full manual dexterity and hand/foot coordination.
