Concrete Sawing and Drilling Operator - Paid Training

Talascend is currently seeking a Concrete Sawing and Drilling Operator for a Direct Hire opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.

$22-$32/hr depending on experience (higher end for experienced operators)

Overview
This is a skilled trade position performing concrete cutting, core drilling, slab and wall sawing, wire sawing, and selective demolition on industrial and infrastructure projects.

Paid training is available for candidates with experience working in construction, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, demolition, or other hands-on environments.

Typical projects include bridges, roadways, industrial facilities, and infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete cutting and drilling equipment (slab saws, wall saws, wire saws, core drills)
• Perform layout, measurement, and precision cutting per project plans and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Set up and operate equipment safely on job sites
• Assist with controlled demolition and structural modifications
• Perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance
• Load, unload, secure, and transport tools and materials
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites
• Follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements
• Communicate with supervisors, contractors, and team members
• Complete basic job documentation and daily work logs
• Travel to project sites and work overtime as needed

Qualifications

• Construction, demolition, or related field experience preferred
• Willingness to learn a skilled trade (training provided)
• Ability to safely operate tools and equipment
• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic construction math
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Strong reliability, work ethic, and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Concrete sawing and drilling experience
• Experience working on heavy civil, bridge, industrial, or infrastructure projects
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
