Position: Maintenance Technician II - Preferred in League City

Responsibilities

  • Complete maintenance service requests across multiple trades.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and promote a quality living experience for all residents.
  • Perform required work while respecting residents’ homes.
  • Conduct regular Pro Care visits, perform proactive maintenance and repairs, and complete the associated checklist in the mobile app.
  • Schedule the next Pro Care Maintenance Visit with residents through the maintenance mobile app.
  • Educate residents on all maintenance topics by presenting the Invitation Homes expectations webpage.
  • Educate residents on the functional systems of their rental home.
  • Complete general property condition assessments at all property visits and alert the property management team when items require immediate attention.
  • Review and use Technician‑specific reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform repairs in vacant properties while they are on‑market or during the turn process.
  • Properly use and care for company‑supplied tools, materials, and vehicles.
  • Proactively review the next day’s appointments to ensure the necessary equipment, materials, information, and allotted time are available for a single‑visit completion.
  • Adhere to all Invitation Homes safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2‑5 years of proven experience in residential repairs and maintenance, or related building maintenance experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification (new hires have up to 90 days to complete certification if not already certified).
  • EPA Certification:
    TypeI, TypeII, and/or EPA Universal HVAC Certification is a plus.
  • CPO certification (pool) is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication; multilingual ability is a plus.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices (iPad and/or iPhone) and various mobile applications.
  • Understanding of residential construction and mechanical systems; ability to perform general repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, minor HVAC, and appliances.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license, automobile insurance, and any other licenses or certifications required by state law.
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to provide basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent climbing, reaching, use of fingers, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to lift or move an excess of 50 pounds or more and to operate standard maintenance equipment as assigned.

  • Salary range: $20.19–$35.00 per hour, plus potential for an annual discretionary bonus.
