Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive)
Lonestar Forklift is seeking a mechanically skilled Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join the Houston, Texas team. As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
Key Responsibilities- Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
- Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs
- Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs
- Completing work order forms
- Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
- Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment
Following established warranty processes
Skills & Qualifications
- At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
- Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
- Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
