Primoris Heavy Civil is hiring skilled Concrete Finishers in Houston,TX. A talented concrete finisher ready to take skills to the next level can join our dynamic Heavy Civil team across various projects in the Houston area.
Job DescriptionSmooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures. Must be willing to travel among several projects within the Houston area and work in various weather conditions.
General Requirements- Practice safety rules.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Safe use of hand and power tools.
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
- Level, smooth, and shape freshly poured concrete.
- Finish concrete surfaces and remove rough or defective spots.
- Patch holes and mold expansion joints and edges.
- Sprinkle stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce the prescribed finish.
- Produce concrete surface and mix cement.
- Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
- Finish steps and stairways.
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
- Mix and pour grout.
Calculate the amounts of concrete required for each job. - Picture objects from drawings and diagrams, compare and see differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
- Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
- Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Location:
industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop. - Mobility barriers to access job site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways.
- Work performed at low and/or high elevations; confined areas.
- Climatic/environmental conditions: predominantly outdoor; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain; various noise levels from tools, machinery, equipment.
