HVAC Truck Chiller Journeyman Mechanic; union

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
• Act as a trusted advisor and provide solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
• Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and aftermarket services for the HVAC business.

• Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
• Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHU’s or rooftop ducted units with strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chiller system components.
• Travel 10% to 20% to support branch customers for startup, commissioning and aftermarket service troubleshooting.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies; enroll in training programs and JCI’s STA to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
• Ability to write and communicate to the customer the problem, cause, and corrective actions.
• Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job; prioritize safety in all forms.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.

• Pay range: $40.25 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
