Job Description
Supervisor:
Foreman
Assist foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision. Assist the foreman in aspects of traffic control, such as road striping, pavement marking, and the fabrication and installation of all types of temporary and permanent signs and traffic control devices.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Fabricates, erects, and maintains temporary traffic control devices, including arrow boards, signs, barricades, channelizing devices, barrels, and all message boards.
- May operate a truck during traffic control operations.
- Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work area.
- Uses power tools and air tools.
- When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor.
- Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles such as climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill.
The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
EducationLess than High School Diploma.
ExperienceAt least 1-2 years related traffic control experience preferred.
Physical Activity LevelHeavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
Manual DexterityManual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Working ConditionsOutdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
Work EnvironmentThe work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high and/or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
