Supervisor:
Paving Operations Manager. This entry‑level role supports the foreman and skilled crew in performing assigned duties under close supervision, progressing toward greater responsibility in paving operations.
- Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using hand tools.
- Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work area.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
- Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe.
- Perform routine non‑machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling pipe sections.
- Assist in machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, and fusing pipe.
- Follow all safety policies, report unsafe activities, and participate in proactive team efforts.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Less than a high school diploma. - Experience:
Preferred three or more years of related construction experience. - Manual Dexterity:
Sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers; ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials. - Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity involving strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
- Working Conditions:
Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.) and exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, and loud noise. - Safety Policies and Practices:
Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the safety manual.
