Overview
Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for forward‑thinking talent to support the fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. The role focuses on light commercial and/or heavy commercial HVAC services for advanced industrial equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
- Provide customer service that solves facility inefficiencies and resolves service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Provide recommendations, upsell opportunities, and accurate quotes to support customer needs.
- Use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drive lines and conduct mechanical shaft alignment with dial indicators.
- Maintain safety standards and follow all company safety initiatives.
- Participate in the Service Plus Rewards program and aid in training others.
- Minimum of three years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, and compressors.
- Practical work experience in HVAC piping, plumbing, pipe fitting, and mechanical equipment service.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry.
- Willingness to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customers.
- Pass a knowledge examination assessing proficiencies in HVAC service.
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
- Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job.
Pay Range: $40.25 hourly rate, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. Opportunities for career development, training programs, and advancement are available.
