Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Fiber Optic Technician for a growing telecommunications provider. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge fiber‑optic networks, with a focus on construction, maintenance, and repair. As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will collaborate with a skilled team to install and maintain fiber‑optic cable plants, respond to emergency outages, and ensure that work meets rigorous quality and safety standards.

This role is ideal for professionals with commercial fiber optics experience looking to contribute to a dynamic, Houston‑based organization.

• Construct, maintain, reroute, and repair fiber optic cable plants.
• Set, remove, and repair utility poles.
• Pull, place, lash, de‑lash, and secure strand, cable, and grounding systems.
• Operate company vehicles safely in the performance of job duties.
• Read and follow maps to plan and complete work efficiently.
• Safeguard and account for company property and maintain accurate equipment records.
• Safely use tools, including ladders, aerial lift devices, and hand tools.
• Respond to emergency and outage situations as needed.
• Assure crew compliance with safety policies and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Summarize workflow and ensure adherence to company quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum 1+ year of commercial fiber optics experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurable under company insurance.
• Flexible schedule with availability 24/7 for emergencies.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Strong ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Minimum two years of comparable experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in planning, multitasking, and staying organized under pressure.
• Available to work on call and night shifts needed.
