We are continuously seeking qualified Water Well Drillers with a CDL for upcoming and future projects! This is an evergreen requisition, meaning we are building a pipeline of skilled candidates as new opportunities arise. This position requires extensive travel
, with assignments lasting multiple weeks at a time.
Daily per diem and hotel accommodations are provided during travel.
About the Role:
The Water Well Driller w/CDL plays a critical role in the CP industry due to the need for deep anode ground beds. This position involves operating specialized drilling equipment to install deep anode beds. The role requires a thorough understanding of geological formations, drilling techniques, and safety protocols to ensure the integrity and sustainability of each well. The Water Well Driller collaborates closely with crew Foreman to ensure proper installation of ground beds.
This position typically requires Monday–Saturday shifts, 45–60 hours per week with overtime rules applicable.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and CDL with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating water well drilling rigs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to drilling operations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Certification as a Water Well Driller or equivalent state licensing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment repair.
- Experience drilling with multiple rig types/situations.
- Safe operation of all drill rig components including mud mixing, pump operations and hole logging.
- Safe driving of equipment to and from job sites.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to supervisors.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly.
- Sitting, standing, walking or driving for long periods of time (1–3 hours).
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations.
- Primarily working outdoors, including extreme weather conditions.
- Working around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
- Wearing personal protective gear most of the day (safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs).
- Must be able to travel as needed for projects (up to 4 weeks at a time).
