• Demonstrate ability to correctly unbolt flanges, clean flange faces, install correct gaskets and bolt‑up flanges up to 16" and manways up to 30" with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of isometric drawings.
• Identify if equipment is isolated and depressurized.
• Can correctly torque flanges.
• Assist with tensioning of flanges.
• Basic understanding of HAZMAT.
• Basic understanding of LO/TO procedures.
• Basic HSE knowledge.
• Communicate progress and identify possible issues while working with Supervisor to load catalyst safely, efficiently, and per quality requirements.
• Assist with any work defined as Catalyst handling Technician L3.

• Able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
• TWIC card.
• Good background score to enter all client facilities.
• DOT or equivalent Physical certification.
• NCCER mechanical advanced.
• NCCER rigging.
• Controlled bolting certificates.
• Plant required course and certifications.
• Respirator fittest.

• Inert entry certificate.
• NCCER intermediate/advanced rigging.
• Current and valid driver license.
• Forklift certificate.

• General refinery practices.
• Pressurized systems.
• Safely opening flanges ensuring no one is in "line of fire".
• Various types of flanges, bolts/gaskets, etc.
• Fit for work – physically able to fit through 20' manways and work inside confined space for a sustainable period while wearing protective clothing and helmet.
• Communicate clearly in English.
• Use video recording devices.
• Work safely and methodically.
• Work well in a team.

3 years as a Mechanical Technician 3 with required experience.
