Site-based Electrical Construction Superintendent responsible for directing field execution, subcontractor coordination, and delivery of medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects. This role is embedded at active utility, industrial, power generation, renewable energy, data center, water/wastewater, and heavy industrial construction sites with ownership of electrical installation activities, site logistics, safety performance, and schedule execution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field construction activities involving medium-voltage and high-voltage power distribution systems ranging from 4.16kV through 138kV+
  • Direct and coordinate electrical subcontractors performing installation of substations, switch gear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), protective relays, breakers, bus duct, cable tray, grounding systems, and power distribution equipment
  • Supervise construction, expansion, and modernization of substations, electrical rooms, utility interconnections, and industrial power systems
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning readiness of transformers, switch gear lineups, relay protection systems, power cables, duct banks, and associated infrastructure
  • Manage daily field operations to ensure adherence to project schedules, sequencing, and productivity targets across multiple electrical work fronts
  • Read and interpret electrical one-lines, three-lines, relay schematics, wiring diagrams, construction drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, utility representatives, commissioning teams, and equipment vendors to ensure successful project execution
  • Monitor electrical safety programs including lockout/tagout, energized work controls, arc flash requirements, grounding practices, and OSHA compliance
  • Track production quantities, installed work, subcontractor performance, and schedule progress against project milestones
  • Lead site logistics planning including material deliveries, equipment staging, crane operations, and installation sequencing for major electrical equipment
  • Conduct field inspections to verify quality and compliance of electrical installations, cable terminations, relay panels, grounding systems, and power distribution equipment
  • Manage RFIs, field changes, outage coordination, utility interfaces, and construction issues affecting project delivery
  • Maintain detailed daily reports documenting manpower, equipment utilization, production progress, and site conditions
Required Experience
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card)
  • Minimum 5+ years of electrical construction supervision experience on industrial, utility, power generation, renewable energy, data center, water/wastewater, or heavy infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems including substations, transformers, switch gear, relays, breakers, and power distribution equipment
  • Experience managing installation of underground duct banks, power cabling, grounding systems, relay protection systems, and utility infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and electrical construction best practices
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and field crews in a schedule-driven construction environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, relay schematics, protection and control drawings, and equipment specifications
  • Experience coordinating with utility companies, commissioning teams, testing firms, and equipment manufacturers
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety programs, switching procedures, energized systems, and high-voltage construction practices
  • Clear, direct communication with project teams, subcontractors, inspectors, utilities, and owners
  • Track record of delivering electrical infrastructure projects safely, on schedule, and to specification
