Role Description

The Diesel Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimal downtime. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, conducting detailed inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing high-quality repairs in a timely manner. The Diesel Mechanic will document work performed, communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors or service advisors, and follow all safety procedures and company standards.

The role may also involve collaborating with other technicians, assisting with maintenance planning, and supporting continuous improvement of shop processes.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics and experience working with heavy-duty engines and drive trains.
  • Hands-on expertise in Heavy Duty Maintenance, including diagnostics, repairs, and safety inspections.
  • Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance for Heavy Equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and tractors.
  • Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance and implement maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or automotive/heavy equipment repair.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy parts, work in shop and yard environments, and follow safety protocols.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
  • Previous experience in fleet service or a similar fast-paced repair environment is preferred.
