Service Technicians are responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with our in-house and manufacturers' standards.
- Repair of any make of vehicle body damage.
- Knowledge in minor fabrication and fitment of accessories.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned truck to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with Service Advisor / Dispatcher immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required.
- Supervises work of any Apprentice Technicians assigned.
- Maintains and is accountable for all Company-owned tools and manuals.
- Understands, maintains and complies with federal, state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal including OSHA regulations and compliance.
Qualified candidates "Must"have the following skill set:
- 5+ years hands on experience.
- Extensive knowledge in the repair and maintenance in one of the following areas, diesel engines,power trains or electrical/air conditioning systems.
- OEM certified in at least three fully completed training courses.
- Able to read, understand, & apply information from manuals & computers including trouble-shooting documents.
- Strong "Diagnostic" skills.
- Strong verbal & documentation skills.
- Strong character & work ethic.
- Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitude
- Own your own tools.
- Have or be able to get a CDL.
- Pre-employment drug testing and background screen applies.
