Electrical Technician
We are seeking an Electrical Technician in Houston, TX on behalf of a global leader in the equipment rental industry. This isn't just a bench-tech role; it is a leadership position designed for a subject matter expert in transformer maintenance and power distribution. You will serve as the technical anchor for our Houston service center, overseeing the reliability of a high-value rental fleet and mentoring the next generation of technicians.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the diagnostics, complex repair, and preventative maintenance of oil-filled medium voltage transformers (15-35KV) and associated power distribution equipment.
- Ensure the transformer rental fleet meets standards through meticulous component testing, including contactor/relay refurbishment and precision small-component replacement.
- Act as the Shop Lead, responsible for training future junior technicians, upholding safety protocols, and optimizing workflow efficiency.
- While primarily shop-based, you will occasionally spearhead critical in-field projects, providing on-site technical solutions for key clients.
- Maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety standards, ensuring all repairs and shop operations exceed OSHA and company-specific guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of specialized experience in the troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical transformers.
- Mastery of oil-filled transformers and systems up to 480V.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable solutions for team members and customers alike.
