As a Relay Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing relays,with a focus on power management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Relay Installation and Maintenance: Install,maintain, test, and repair relays. Input parameters for relays and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Motor Controls: Possess experience in installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing motor controls.
  • Power Management: Minimum 3years of experience working with power management relays. Read and fully understand protection and control schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams. Identify and rectify mistakes and problems in drawings and designs by comparing them with accepted engineering and customer standards.
  • Manufacturers' Literature: Utilize manufacturers' literature to facilitate testing processes.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Install, maintain, test, and repair circuit breakers, transformers, switch gear, and similar equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including test results, drawings, and maintenance documentation for associated equipment and devices.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership
Position Requirements
  • Position requires extended hours, which willvary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require specific hours of operation.
  • May need to work weekends if business needs require
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl,climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead
  • Constantly moving on your feet for 8+ hoursper day
  • Climb ladders (all types)
  • Completing overhead work for full day assignments
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels ofthe building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Positively identify colors of wires.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as aRelay Technician.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting protection and control schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the abilityto identify and address issues promptly.
  • In-depth knowledge of power management relaysand motor controls.
  • Familiarity with circuit breakers,transformers, switch gear, and related equipment.
  • Ability to catch mistakes and problems in drawings and designs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various types ofrelays, their functions, and applications in electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with power management relays,including experience in configuring parameters and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of motor control systems, including installation, maintenance, testing, and repair.
  • Understanding of circuit breakers,transformers, switch gear, and related equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address issues with relays and other electrical components.
  • Proficient in the installation, maintenance,testing, and repair of relays, motor controls, circuit breakers, transformers,switch gear, and associated equipment.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and practices in electrical work.
  • Ability to analyze complex electrical systems,identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Willingness and ability to engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
