Trailer Technician II
As a Trailer Technician II, you'll perform mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting, and most repairs and replacements and preventative maintenance. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and replacement, and preventative maintenance. You will operate with most tools, including pneumatic, usually work independently on repair orders, and provide some training and assistance to other technicians. You will also perform major trailer repairs, various welding, diagnose and repair ABS brakes and air brake systems, repair and replace suspension systems, vertical post and sheet metal paneling, and overhead swing doors.
You will complete brakes jobs, perform sheet metal fabricating, and perform Trailer Tech I duties.
Qualifications and key requirements include 2+ years of experience as a mechanic, proficiency in electrical theory, cutting and welding skills, ability to read schematic diagrams including electrical, ability to perform intermediate repairs, and ability to train and develop other technicians. Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Licenses and certifications required include meeting H-E-B driving qualifications, OEM certification in brakes, structural repair, overhead door, suspension, and electrical, third-party tire certification, welding certification, and completion of third-party training.
Physical demands include working in a team environment, lifting 100 lbs and carrying a distance of 5 ft, working sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position, working with hands over head, and climbing; working from a ladder. You will also meet H-E-B driving qualifications, possess and maintain required tools, obtain DOT certification within 1 year of hire, and work toward ASE certifications T4, T5, T6, and T8.
