Journeyman Plumber

Primary

Purpose:

Support Journeyman Plumber in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping and fixture systems.

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in plumbing Effective planning and organizational skills

Experience:

5 to 8 years of field experience

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Read blueprints and follow state and local building codes.
• Determine the materials and equipment needed for a job.
• Install pipes and fixtures.
• Inspect and test installed pipe systems and pipelines.
• Troubleshooting malfunctioning systems.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems.
• Install and repair water, gas, and other piping systems in the district facilities.
• Install plumbing fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, and appliances, such as dishwashers and water heaters.
• Clean drains, remove obstructions and repair or replace broken pipes and fixtures.
• Also help maintain septic systemslarge, underground holding tanks that collect waste from the district facilities not connected to a sewer system.

Plumbing tools and equipment including pipe bender, propane torch; hand tools; power tools; heavy equipment including forklift, trencher, backhoe; light truck or van

* Minimum Salary $21.30 hourly
* Salary is commensurate with experience
* Works 260 Day Calendar
