Hardman Signs is a national leader in architectural signage and environmental graphics. We design, manufacture, and install high-impact signage solutions for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use projects across the country. We pride ourselves on blending strong creative concepts with practical, buildable solutions.

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Masonry Installer to construct durable, code-compliant masonry foundations, pedestals, and anchoring systems for our architectural signage projects. This role is ideal for an experienced craft professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and understands how masonry supports high-impact signage installations. You will work closely with Lead Sign Installers, project teams, and fabrication staff to deliver structurally sound, visually excellent results on monument, pylon, and wall-mounted signage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct and finish high-quality masonry foundations and pedestals for monument and pylon signs, including excavation, forming, rebar, concrete placement, curing, and premium finishing.
  • Expertly anchor signage to brick, concrete block, stone, and precast substrates using structural anchors and load-rated fastening systems.
  • Perform precision drilling, coring, and masonry cutting while strictly controlling silica dust and protecting existing structures per OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate daily with Lead Sign Installers and project teams to align masonry work with schedules and ensure seamless handoff to sign mounting and electrical integration.
  • Conduct site evaluations for soil, drainage, and existing conditions; recommend practical solutions and maintain clear documentation and progress photos.
  • Champion jobsite safety - follow all OSHA requirements (silica control, fall protection, excavation safety, PPE) and maintain a zero-incident standard.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, keep work areas organized, and support junior team members on proper techniques and safety practices when assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of professional masonry experience with structural concrete, brick, block, and stone work in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, site plans, and masonry details.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete technology, masonry materials, anchoring systems, and building codes related to signage foundations.
  • Experience in architectural signage, way finding, or high-end commercial construction is strongly preferred.
  • Concrete finishing experience or certification (ACI or equivalent) and OSHA 30-Hour certification are a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and experience operating forklifts or masonry equipment are advantageous.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move materials up to 80 lbs (concrete bags, blocks, rebar, tools).
  • Work at heights on ladders, scaffolds, and lifts for wall anchoring and elevated foundation work.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions for extended periods in all weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity for precise masonry work and safe operation of power tools and equipment.
  • Consistent use of required PPE, including respirators for silica-generating tasks.
What We Offer
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile architectural signage projects that shape Houston’s skyline and communities across Texas.
  • Collaborative team environment with strong support from experienced Lead Installers and project staff.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and PTO.
  • Growth opportunities within a growing national company that values craftsmanship and safety.
