Position Overview:

Moore Security Solutions is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician - Level II to support the installation, programming, inspection, and servicing of commercial fire alarm systems. This role is ideal for a technician with solid field experience who can work independently, assist with complex projects, and ensure all systems meet code compliance and client expectations.

Location:

Houston, TX and surrounding areas

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, test, and service commercial fire alarm systems
  • Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA 72 and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
  • Troubleshoot system issues, including devices, panels, and communication pathways
  • Assist with system startups, commissioning, and final acceptance testing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and general contractors on job progress
  • Maintain accurate documentation including inspection reports, service tickets, and as-builts
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal fire codes and safety standards
  • Train and support junior technicians when needed
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working with commercial fire alarm systems
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72 codes and fire alarm system operations
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and inspections
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with major fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Silent Knight, Notifier, Fire-Lite, Bosch, etc.)
  • Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) or ability to obtain
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification
  • Experience working on commercial construction or retrofit projects
