Subarc Welder
We are seeking a skilled subarc welder to join our team, responsible for welding rolled shells and cans for silencers with diameters ranging from 25" to 100". The most common size is a 60" OD. These are primarily carbon steel cans used for super heaters and silencers. In addition to subarc work, you will also be required to weld flux on 8"-14" carbon pipes and occasionally work with structural plates.
You must be able to adjust feed, speed, and set up your own welding machine.
- Weld rolled shells and cans for silencers ranging from 25"-100" in diameter.
- Perform subarc welding on carbon steel cans used for super heaters and silencers.
- Weld flux on 8"-14" carbon pipes.
- Work with structural plates requiring welding.
- Adjust feed, speed, and set up welding machines independently.
- 3+ years of subarc welding experience.
- Experience in welding flux.
- Ability to backgouge.
- Proficiency in MIG, fabrication, flux core, subarc welding, and SAW welding.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in TIG and MIG welding.
- Fitting experience.

Work EnvironmentThe position operates in a clean, air-conditioned shop. Day shifts are from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with most Saturdays and Sundays required during busy periods. Night shifts run from 6pm to 6am. Be prepared to work a 13-day on and 1-day off schedule when necessary.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX 77032.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
