Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Seeking a highly motivated self starter who is detail oriented to work independently as a light duty commercial vehicle inspector / Mechanic with minimal indirect supervision.

Individual must be able to quickly perform courtesy inspections based on company standards on all inbound/outbound equipment.

Perform PM services and Annual DOT inspections per company procedures and in accordance with FHWA regulations.

Perform electrical diagnostics on trailer lighting systems and make corresponding repairs in accordance with company procedures and industry recommended best practices.

Diagnosis and repairs of various air systems and components as needed.

Ability to identify deficiencies, required or necessary repairs needed to various equipment that are outside the scope, capabilities and productivity timelines of a single person operation.

Ability to work with both on and off site management teams as well as outside vendors to ensure repairs are quoted and completed with the most economical means possible and without jeopardizing the quality of repairs or the equipment integrity and safety.

Requirements:

Must have a valid driver’s license, Class A is a plus.

Individual must be computer literate with email, Microsoft Word, Excel and have the ability to learn other operating systems.

Must possess own hand tools and limited pneumatic tools up to ½” drive.

Must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 100lbs.

Must have the ability to become forklift certified.

Mechanic must be qualified, or have the ability to obtain qualification to inspect and adjust brakes.

Minimum 3-5 years current relevant mechanical experience on and with commercial vehicles and trailers.

Welding Certification desired but not required.
