Role Description

The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in commercial and/or residential settings, including equipment such as furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, checking and charging refrigerant, verifying electrical connections, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.

The technician will respond to service calls, document work performed, follow company and regulatory guidelines, and communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients. The role may also involve participating in renovation and retrofit projects, supporting design-build installations, and contributing to a safe, organized job site.

Qualifications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems, including diagnosing mechanical and control-related issues.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing related to HVAC installations, such as condensate drainage and piping connections.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
  • Understanding of electricity and electrical systems within HVAC, including wiring, controls, and safety practices.
  • Current EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants in compliance with regulations.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and HVAC tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, apprenticeship, or relevant HVAC certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites as required.
