Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Description
Base pay rate is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience
1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, hours may vary depending on operations
This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
The ETS Controls Technician supports multiple manufacturing facilities with equipment installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting activities. This role is designed for individuals developing technical skills in industrial maintenance, including exposure to PLC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and CAD drawing interpretation. The position works under the guidance of senior technicians and engineering teams to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesTravel to manufacturing plants to assist with equipment installation, setup, and startup activities
Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems under supervision
Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment issues and elevate complex problems as needed
Read and follow electrical schematics, basic CAD drawings, and maintenance manuals
Assist in equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance needs
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Participate in training and development programs to build technical skills
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Technical certification or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
0–2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (internships or co-op experience acceptable)
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and schematics (training provided)
Willingness to learn PLC systems and industrial automation
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
Ability to travel frequently (50–75% or as required)
Exposure to PLC systems (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens)
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance practices
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Good communication and teamwork skills
Dependability and strong work ethic
Adaptability in a multi-site environment
Frequent travel to multiple manufacturing facilities across North America
Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, heat, dust, and moving machinery
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as needed
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces
