Job Title:Foreman
Department:Field Projects
Reports to:Field Leader / Superintendent
Direct Reports:Crew Leaders (and, through them, Electricians)
Location:Field – traveling throughout Houston
What You'll DoThe Foreman (also called Project Leader) runs an electrical job from start to finish. This role manages the labor, materials, and production of one or more projects, provides technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment, and leads several Crew Leaders day to day. The Foreman builds and keeps a 3‑week look‑ahead, plans labor on the site, serves as the field point person with the general contractor's superintendent, and solves jobsite issues directly — escalating only what is outside the job's control, such as major equipment delays or office and customer issues.
Other duties and travel will be required. This job description does not limit management’s ability to assign additional tasks.
- Run the job: build and maintain the 3-week look-ahead, plan labor on the site, and solve jobsite issues directly with the GC and Superintendent
- Inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met
- Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
- Estimate and order material and evaluate worker requirements to complete jobs
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of Crew Leaders and electricians; remove crew roadblocks so crews stay productive
- Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports
- Assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs
- Maintain a current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and ensure conformances to building and safety codes.
- Develop crew leaders by giving them clear work and room to solve problems; elevate issues outside the job’s control, such as major equipment delays or office/customer issues, to the Field Leader/Superintendent.
- Has run a commercial electrical job and can lead several Crew Leaders
- Can build and use a 3-week look-ahead, plan site labor, and keep crews productive
- Knows what can be solved directly with the GC superintendent and what must be escalated
- Can remove daily roadblocks so Crew Leaders can focus on production
- Can serve as the field point person on the job
- Builds Crew Leaders by giving them clear work and room to solve problems, rather than solving everything for them.
- Full‑time consistent employment — no temporary or contract positions
- No overnight or out‑of‑town projects with overtime…
