Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Supervisor to perform and oversee highway maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area. The position is based in Porter, TX and is responsible for maintenance work program and scheduling, and highway maintenance and construction activities. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including but not limited to the supervision of crews performing debris removal, guardrail repair, maintenance of traffic, and other activities.

Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen company policies and procedures is required.

• Minimum of five (5) years of highway construction maintenance industry related experience
• Basic knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Earth Strong
• Leadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing, directing and leading construction crews.
• Strong organizational skills for timesheets and inventory tracking, scheduling & work planning as well as oversight of maintenance crews to ensure work execution/completion
• Roadway or guardrail maintenance experience
• Concrete forming/repair experience
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

• Experience with projects using TxDOT standard specifications
• Roadway or construction maintenance experience
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)

Must pass criminal background check

CDL License a plus

• Construction management experience/education a plus
• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time;
Monday - Friday, day shift, with some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. 7:30am-4pm. Occasional overtime available.
