Base pay rate is $30.00 - $35.00, depending upon experience
1st shift:6:00AM - 2:30PM,hours may vary depending on operations
The Maintenance Technician III performs a variety of essential functions related to equipment installations, repairs, and modifications for generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy in the manufacturing facility. They install, modify, and maintain all plant buildings, machinery, and equipment, including mobile or road equipment and production machinery, in a good state of mechanical repair.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical apparatus.
- Perform duties assigned in the machine shop (i.e. tool & die) as directed.
- Works on highly technical or involved projects, dealing with complex factors, and making decisions based on conclusions and findings.
- Installs and repairs various electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems. Works with blue prints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions, and other specifications.
- Uses different welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, and flame cutting) for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
- Uses electricians’ hand tools and measuring/testing equipment.
- Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Performs visual and mechanical inspections to maintain machinery in good condition ensuring the production of finished quality products to order specifications.
- Follows the preventive maintenance program established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventative action when necessary.
- Performs minor and major repairs on buildings.
- Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Provides on-the-job direction to new maintenance mechanics and others assisting in maintenance work.
- Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area.
- May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team Leader.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Minimum of (5) five years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing, walking, lifting 30 lbs. or more, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, near acuity,
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
