American Western Steel is looking for an experienced Master Electrician to join our team and support electrical work associated with our growing portfolio of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects
.

We are looking for a highly skilled, dependable electrician who can take ownership of electrical scopes from planning and estimating through installation, inspection, and completion. This position is ideal for someone with strong commercial/industrial electrical experience who understands construction and is comfortable working in the field as well as coordinating with project teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and perform electrical installations for PEMB and commercial construction projects
Review architectural, electrical, and structural drawings to determine electrical requirements
Plan electrical layouts, materials, labor, and installation requirements
Provide electrical estimating and assist with project budgeting
Coordinate electrical work with American Western Steel project managers, estimators, customers, subcontractors, and other trades
Install and oversee installation of:
Service equipment and distribution
Panels and disconnects
Lighting systems
Receptacles and switches
Conduit and wiring
Equipment connections
Exterior/site lighting
Commercial and industrial electrical systems
Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve field issues
Ensure installations meet applicable NEC requirements and local electrical codes
Coordinate inspections and address inspection requirements
Manage electrical material procurement and maintain accurate material lists
Supervise electrical subcontractors and/or electrical crews when applicable
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety, organization, and professionalism
Communicate project progress, material needs, schedule concerns, and field conditions to management

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Valid Master Electrician license applicable to the areas in which we operate
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Proven commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical plans
Experience working on construction projects from start to finish
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred:

Experience with PEMB / metal-building construction
Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems
Experience estimating electrical work and preparing material takeoffs
Experience supervising electrical crews or subcontractors
Experience coordinating with general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other trades
Familiarity with construction estimating software or project management systems
