Heavy Commercial HVAC Technician

Responsibilities Service, repair, start up, and install reciprocating, rotary, and centrifugal chillers of all tonnages.

Service and retrofit HVAC equipment, ancillary systems, and building controls.

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex airside, waterside, and control systems.

Service, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on cooling tower systems.

Conduct maintenance inspections according to the established scope of work.

Clearly communicate equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and service updates to customers.

Maintain accurate and timely service documentation.

Follow all Hunton safety policies and applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.

Qualifications Qualifications and Requirements Minimum of five years of experience servicing Trane and other OEM equipment.

Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including airside, waterside, and controls.

Experience with boilers and variable-frequency drives is preferred.

EPA refrigerant certification required.

Technical certifications and factory training are preferred.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to establish trusted-advisor relationships with customers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Ability to work a flexible schedule; overtime may be required.

Valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, dust, and noise.

See, hear, and communicate effectively to diagnose equipment issues and maintain safe operations.

Safely operate a motor vehicle and travel to customer locations throughout the Greater Houston area.
