Field Application Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning electrical systems for the company's pool equipment. Leads field execution, troubleshoots power and communication issues, and trains customers and installers. Works directly with leadership to improve products and installation practices.
Key Responsibilities:Assess site readiness and recommend configuration for installation and commissioning.
Install, configure, and commission systems and sensors, coordinating with electrical contractors as needed.
Diagnose power, wiring, relay, control, and RS-485 communication issues across equipment.
Set up controller connectivity, app access, and equipment settings; verify operation and handoff.
Provide on-site and remote support, investigate root causes, and ensure follow-through on performance issues.
Train installers, service teams, builders, and customers; support sales with demonstrations and onboarding.
Partner with engineering on field trials, hardware and firmware validation, and document findings.
Improve checklists, wiring references, and training materials while following safety practices.
Strong practical understanding of electricity, including AC/DC circuits, voltage, current, resistance, grounding, power supplies, relays, and low-voltage controls.
Hands-on experience with electrical installation, controls, equipment commissioning, or field service; confidence reading wiring diagrams and using a multimeter to troubleshoot systematically.
Comfort learning connected hardware, mobile applications, Wi-Fi setup, and equipment communication networks.
Clear customer communication, patient teaching skills, ability to manage field work independently and document results.
Houston-area base and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight trips, and work at outdoor pool equipment sites.
Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
You have hands-on experience installing and commissioning electrical systems. You can troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, relays, and RS-485 communication. You're comfortable traveling statewide, training customers, and documenting findings
