About this role
Join a busy commercial building services crew in Houston, TX as a Building Services Technician. You'll handle facility maintenance, repairs, and minor construction for commercial sites - work that uses your carpentry skills and practical problem solving every day. This role is best for experienced carpenters who are self-motivated, safety-focused and comfortable working independently on client-facing projects. Expect hands-on tasks across rough and finish carpentry, painting and basic concrete work, with travel between local job sites as needed.
What you'll do Perform rough and finish carpentry, trim, door and hardware installation, cabinet work and basic concrete tasks on commercial sites.
Diagnose facility issues, make repairs, prepare cost-conscious material estimates, source materials and coordinate with vendors.
Complete painting, surface preparation, tape and float, and minor finishing work to meet project standards.
Follow OSHA safety protocols, use required PPE, maintain clean and hazard-free work areas and enforce site safety standards.
Communicate directly with clients, supervisors and team members to coordinate scope, schedules and project handoffs; organize daily tasks to meet deadlines.
What we're looking for3-5+ years commercial carpentry or facilities maintenance experience with strong finish and rough carpentry skills.
Possess OSHA 10 certification and a solid understanding of building codes and ADA standards.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; able to travel between job sites and carry tools/equipment.
Comfortable using hand and power tools, working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders and standing for long periods.
Proficient with basic tech: tablets, email, scheduling apps, and reading technical drawings/measurements. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Qualifications OSHA 10 certification required
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or GED preferred
Bilingual:
English and Spanish (preferred)3-5+ years commercial carpentry/facilities maintenance experience
Proficient with tablets, email and scheduling software
