Multicraft Maintenance Technician

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Multicraft Maintenance Technician to support our fence manufacturing facility. The role involves making mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs, leading maintenance tasks by responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with maintenance projects such as the installation of new equipment, ordering parts, and maintaining tool inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Attend to breakdown maintenance as necessary for all machines.
  • Perform maintenance tasks as per the preventive maintenance schedule for all machines and maintain logs.
  • Replace components such as solenoid valves, switches, and cylinders in pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Diagnose faults in PLCs, servo drives, sensors, and limit switches for electrical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain resistance welding electrodes, transformers, and chilling units in welding systems.
  • Service, align, and replace wire cutters, dies, and feed rollers in tool & die maintenance.
  • Replace worn components like drive chains, sprockets, bearings, and rollers.
  • Repair parts as needed, identify and work with sub-vendors.
  • Identify spares and consumables that need to be ordered, services needed.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors on shop maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs on machines and shop floor.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills with electrical schematics.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Understanding of resistance welding variables (current, time, pressure).
  • Skills in troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, repair, PLC troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, maintenance repairs, and facilities maintenance.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in wire tech or steel manufacturing plants.
  • Experience working with vendors to order parts or outsource maintenance not performed in-house.

Work Environment

Flexibility is needed for responding to breakdowns or scheduled shutdowns for maintenance, with the typical start time around 6 AM. On-call availability for emergency repairs is required.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
