Sorenson Communications, LLC. offers Video Relay Service (VRS), which allows Deaf people who use American Sign Language (ASL) and hearing people to communicate in their preferred language—either ASL, spoken English, or Spanish. Sorenson also provides onsite and remote interpreting services between English and various other world languages.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) to educate customers on how to use their Video Relay Service device.
  • Travel to customer homes and businesses to perform VRS training, service calls, and new installations of Sorenson equipment in the assigned area.
  • Educate new and existing customers on how to use the features and benefits of Sorenson Video Relay Service (SVRS) services and products.
  • Participate in events with the Sales/Outreach and Marketing groups to educate institutions, customers, and organizations about the benefits of Sorenson VRS.
  • Conduct seminars and training sessions with deaf constituents on using Sorenson services to communicate with hearing constituents.
Travel Requirements

Local daily travel requirement: 50–75%.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Extensive experience installing Sorenson VRS equipment, providing customer service, and expertise in all types of videophone and network installations including T1, DSL, and high‑speed cable internet.
  • Excellent written and ASL communication skills.
  • Daily access to own transportation; willing to provide required documentation (insurance, registration, etc.).
  • Willing and able to travel long distances by automobile or airplane and stay overnight.
  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of the internet, routers, hubs, switches, and how to install them.
  • Maintain personal high‑speed internet connection at home.
  • Have Sorenson Communications selected as default provider (with an active Local Number) for work devices.
  • Understanding of firewalls and ability to work with IT and network administrators to open required ports for Sorenson equipment.
Working Conditions And

Physical Requirements
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and sit for long periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Compliance with the company’s vaccination policy if role requires face‑to‑face interaction with co‑workers or customers.
