As a Bilingual Client Advocate, you will provide culturally relevant, trauma‑informed, evidence‑based, client‑centered, and healing‑centered services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. You will offer case management to clients participating in the Behavioral Health and Wellbeing program across all HAWC locations, including Survivor Empowerment Hubs in Houston.
ScheduleMonday‑Friday:
Three days per week 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.;
Two days per week 11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.;
Work Model:
Hybrid. Local Travel: 50%.
- Hourly Compensation: $22.25
- Pay schedule: semi‑monthly

- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Counseling, or related field - Experience:
Entry level – no experience required - Language:
Bilingual in English and Spanish, able to read, speak, and write fluently in both languages - Computer
Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Computer savvy, strong data‑entry skills, able to learn new applications quickly - Certificates & Licenses:
Texas driver’s license with a safe driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off‑site locations using personal transportation if required
- Assist clients in receiving services via telephone and in person
- Conduct intake assessments for domestic and sexual violence survivors referred to the Behavioral Health and Wellbeing Program, gathering relevant information and providing crisis intervention
- Enroll clients in individual or group counseling services with licensed counselors from the program
- Coordinate referrals to internal and external stakeholders for additional services
- Maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of services
- Participate in training, supervision, and meetings
- Collaborate with staff to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient program management
- Report suspected or prior abuse/neglect to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services when appropriate
- Advocate on behalf of adults and children at HAWC and other agencies
- Provide mobile advocacy to overcome barriers, meeting clients in the community, at work, or other safe places and accompanying them to appointments as needed
