Overview
Residential Community Coordinator role at the university. A full-time, live-in professional responsible for coordinating activities related to student life in resident communities to create a positive living and learning environment. Ensures residential communities are safe and secure and assists with university housing operations.
Responsibilities- Establishes and promotes a community environment; interprets and enforces the University Apartment Lease Agreement and policies. Communicates with and serves as a liaison between residents and staff of University Housing.
- Actively promote and strive to develop a community atmosphere among University Apartment residents.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, complete weekly reports, maintain scheduled hours at the Housing Office, attend programs throughout the community.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate 12-48 Resident Assistants.
- Advise a Building Government while supporting the overall mission of Residential Life and Housing.
- Participate in the departmental on-call duty and emergency response system for the residential communities.
- Provide advice, support, assistance and referrals to resident students regarding academic, housing, personal or other concerns.
- Provide resources and support for activities and programs in the building/community.
- Serve as a conflict mediator within the Residential Review process and represent the department; maintain a weekly work schedule with a minimum of 40 hours/week with evening office hours and periodic weekend commitments.
- Perform administrative functions for day-to-day operation of the assigned residence hall/area.
- Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership; maintain housing service standards and complete special projects when needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. - Licensing/
Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver's License. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
- Knowledge of:
- Skills:
Problem-solving and decision-making; multitasking and time management; coordinating work of others; planning activities; verbal and written communication. - Abilities:
Live on campus; prepare detailed reports; work independently; communicate effectively.
- Limited standing and/or walking; handling light-weight objects; using or carrying equipment; stooping, bending or lifting.
- Lives on campus.
