Description

As the Bilingual Residential Children and Youth Enrichment Specialist at HAWC you will be developing, implementing, and coordinating enrichment activities and programs at the Flagship Campus for child survivors or witnesses of domestic violence.

  • Full Time
  • Monday
    - Friday from 12:00 p.m.

    - 9:00 p.m.
  • Flexibility to work one Saturday per month
  • Work Model: 100% onsite
  • Local Travel: 5%

  • Hourly Compensation:$21.63
  • Pay

    Schedule:

    Semi-monthly

  • Vacation Leave based on relevant professional experience (15–30 days annually for full-time employees; prorated for eligible part-time employees)
  • Sick Leave (112 hours annually for full-time employees; prorated for eligible part-time employees)
  • Eleven (11) Paid Agency Holidays for eligible employees who are regularly scheduled to work on the observed holiday
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with a 125% employer match on employee contributions up to 4% of annual earnings for eligible full-time employees after one year of service

Qualifications

The Requirements We are Seeking:

  • High School Diploma with an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree

OR

  • Associate's Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice, or similar social science.
  • A minimum of one year of experience creating and facilitating lesson plans to school-age children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish, able to read, speak, and write fluently in both languages.
  • You have a valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.
  • Current First Aid- CPR required
  • Childhood Development Certificate preferred.

What you Deliver in this role:

  • Develop and implement curriculum after-school and summer activities for children including, but not limited to safety skills, conflict resolution, violence prevention, and healthy coping skills.
  • Plan, coordinate and maintain activities including, after-school and summer programming to include literacy, educational, cultural, holiday activities; events and field trips.
  • Teach children (age-appropriate) personal development skills including, but not limited to, safety skills, violence prevention education, conflict management, multicultural awareness, team building, self-esteem, leadership, and empowerment.
  • Model and teach non-violent discipline and conflict resolution skills to clients and their children.
  • Develop contracts and maintain relationships with community partners as it relates enrichment services.
  • Provide services to children and their parents from a feminist perspective, which includes empowerment, power differentials, gender issues and setting appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Maintain accurate records, statistics, and documentation of services on a daily basis.
  • Assess outcomes data to evaluate and monitor changes to determine planning needs and make program recommendations to supervisor.
  • Complete Parent/Child Orientation
  • Other duties may be assigned.
