Sunrise Lofts Resident Assistant
General Responsibility and Authority
The resident assistant lives onsite and supports residents in acclimatizing to the community encourages and mentors residents in their journey toward self-sufficiency, and promotes harmony in relationships among residents and between residents and property management and resident services staff..
Specific Responsibilities
* Listens to any concerns or issues residents may have and communicates these to leadership.
* Prepares for and participates in residents' first week onsite, including creating activities to engage new residents, and conducting an orientation for them to the community.
* Helps residents stay informed about activities and opportunities to encourage resident engagement.
* Addresses any concerns residents may have with other residents and acts as a moderator to solve any problems.
* Stays up to date with property rules to ensure residents are following them at all times.
* Holds regular meetings with the residents they oversee and plans fun, engaging activities to help residents connect.
* Services and maintains a list of available services.
* Identifies needed community.
* Acts as community liaison for specified activities.
Skills
* Ability to act professionally at all times and as a strong role model for residents.
* Personable, friendly and outgoing personality.
* Effective communication and listening skills to interact with residents.
* Ability to maintain a calming presence in case of emergency events in order to direct and assist residents safely.
* Good organization and planning skills.
* Great time management.
Needs understanding and awareness of the community.
Needs to prove they themselves are self-sufficient or on path towards such.
Needs to have proven record of relationship building.
Needs to have high tolerance for and empathy in high stressful situation.
Needs to have proven track record in deescalating crisis or chaotic situations.
Needs to have experience in stakeholder engagement
Needs strong interpersonal skills Need to demonstrate strong verbal communication.
Needs to have experience or certification in mediation.
Needs to have experience in engagement with strong communication skills
