UTHealth Houston's Office of Development is seeking an Associate Director of Corporate Engagement. This role offers the opportunity to build strategic partnerships and secure philanthropic support from a diverse portfolio of corporate donors invested in advancing UTHealth Houston's mission to improve health through education, research, and clinical care.

This Associate Director will work as part of a team to develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate support. The successful candidate will play an important role in growing UTHealth Houston's Corporate Relations program by building new partnerships and connecting the institution's educational, research, and clinical priorities with corporate funding interests. The focus will include both corporations with existing relationships with the university and new prospects not currently engaged with UTHealth Houston.

Applicants should have at least three years of frontline fundraising experience managing a portfolio of prospects and a demonstrated track record of securing philanthropic support. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to effectively navigate the complex nature of our organization, develop an understanding of our clinical, research, and educational enterprises, and build strong relationships with corporate and community partners.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and offers a hybrid/flexible work schedule and opportunities for professional development. The office is located in University Center Tower in the heart of the Texas Medical Center.

Position Summary:

In alignment with the direction provided by development leadership, this position is charged with identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate partners of UTHealth Houston. Supports initiatives to expand the institution's Corporate Engagement program.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manages a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects.
  • Works with prospect researchers to identify funding opportunities (RFP/RFA) that align with UTHealth Houston's institutional priorities and develop plans involving faculty to submit.
  • Formulates solicitation strategies in conjunction with development leadership and coordinates implementation.
  • Works closely with prospect researchers, development staff, deans, faculty and volunteers to identify and solicit for project-driven requests.
