Overview

Back End Software Engineer. We are seeking a Back End Software Engineer to help build the core systems that power complex, data driven web applications in a highly technical, industrial technology environment. This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys designing reliable backend architectures, experimenting with new technologies, and turning ambitious ideas into production ready systems.

As a Back End Software Engineer, you will focus on the engine behind the application. You will design and implement server side logic, manage data persistence, and ensure systems are secure, scalable, and responsive. You will work within a small, fast moving team that prototypes emerging technologies to address real world industry challenges, balancing innovation with operational rigor.

• Design and develop server side application logic that supports high performance and reliability
• Define, build, and maintain central databases and data access layers
• Ensure backend services respond efficiently to requests from front end applications
• Integrate user facing features with backend systems in close partnership with front end engineers
• Collaborate with product managers, customers, and end users to define goals and translate them into cohesive technical solutions
• Build prototypes and production systems that meet defined quality, security, and performance standards
• Evaluate new tools, platforms, and architectural patterns to improve efficiency and reliability
• Contribute reusable components that are well documented, tested, and easy to maintain
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, and leadership to peers and stakeholders
• Apply usability and design principles based on project standards and user feedback

• Strong experience designing and implementing backend systems for web applications
• Deep understanding of database design, application security, and service performance
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross functional teams
• Interest in emerging technologies and their application to real world industry problems
• A disciplined approach to code quality, documentation, and long term maintainability

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or a related field
• Five or more years of relevant experience in software engineering or closely related technical roles
