Full Stack Desk Developer, Python and React

We are hiring a Full Stack Developer to support high impact commercial and operational teams within a global energy and commodities trading environment. This role focuses on building modern, data driven applications that sit directly alongside trading and operations desks, enabling faster decisions, clearer insights, and more efficient execution across the energy value chain.

This is an in office role based in Houston, Texas, with daily collaboration alongside traders, analysts, and operations professionals. The position offers a rare opportunity to work close to the business, where the software you build directly influences real world outcomes in fast moving markets.

You will join a highly collaborative technology group responsible for designing and evolving a wide range of full stack applications used globally across commercial desks. The work spans new product development, modernization of legacy tools, and continuous enhancement of systems that are critical to daily trading and operational workflows.

Success in this role requires curiosity about the business, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions. You will be trusted to take ownership, move quickly, and deliver software that is both reliable and intuitive.

• Design and build full stack applications used by trading and operations teams in real time decision making environments.
• Rapidly prototype new tools and features by working directly with business users and iterating based on continuous feedback.
• Modernize and extend an existing application landscape, introducing scalable and maintainable architectures.
• Own projects end to end, from requirements analysis and technical design through development, testing, and deployment.
• Integrate applications with internal platforms, data sources, and services across the organization.
• Identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, visibility, or commercial outcomes.

You will work across a modern full stack environment and are expected to be hands on with the following technologies.

• Backend development using Python and C Sharp with strong experience building APIs.
• Python frameworks and libraries including FastAPI, SQL Alchemy, and Pydantic.
• Frontend development using Type Script and React to deliver responsive, user focused interfaces.
• Experience with ORM frameworks, including Entity Framework as a plus.
• Designing, maintaining, and optimizing relational databases such as Postgre
  
  SQL and Oracle.

• Develop a deep understanding of business workflows and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Partner closely with both technical peers and non technical stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Balance speed and quality in a fast paced, high accountability environment.
• Continuously improve development practices, tooling, and system reliability.
• Stay current with evolving Python, C Sharp, and React ecosystems and apply modern patterns where appropriate.

• A relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least three years of professional experience in full stack development.
• Strong backend experience with Python and C Sharp, including API and ORM frameworks.
• Strong frontend experience building production applications with React and Type Script.
• A genuine passion for software development and close collaboration with business teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively under time pressure.
