The Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications using a combination of third-party and proprietary frameworks. The role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts, product teams, and other engineers to transform business requirements into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
The engineer is expected to contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements clarification to deployment and operational readiness.
Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development and Architecture
- Develop full-stack web applications using shared components and reusable frameworks
- Design and implement server-side services that are secure, scalable, and backward-compatible
- Build responsive front-end interfaces that function seamlessly across multiple devices and form factors
- Translate user stories and technical requirements into functional software solutions
Quality, Security, and Usability
- Ensure applications are secure by design and deployable within enterprise environments
- Apply usability standards and best practices at the project or product line level
- Ensure solutions are operable, maintainable, and aligned with SLB’s technical standards
Collaboration and Delivery
- Work closely with subject matter experts to refine functional and technical requirements
- Participate in Agile development processes and cross-functional collaboration
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and system performance
SLB seeks candidates with a strong academic foundation and significant professional experience in software engineering.
Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering or related technical roles
- Demonstrated experience in developing both front-end and back-end systems
- Ability to design services that are scalable, secure, and compatible with evolving systems
Highly valued technical skills include:
- API development and integration
- Front-end frameworks such as AngularJS
- Cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and modern software architecture
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and applications
