AI Agent Engineer - AWS

Our client is seeking a seeking a hands‑on AI Engineer with strong experience building and deploying AI/GenAI solutions on AWS
.

The ideal candidate has real‑world experience building AI agents, LLM‑powered applications, and scalable cloud‑based systems
, and is comfortable working across backend development, AI integration, and cloud deployment.

This role is on a contractual‑basis, full‑time hours Mon‑Fri, on‑site in Houston, Texas, projected to be 6 months project duration MINIMUM plus possibility of extension.

• Design and build AI‑powered applications using modern LLM frameworks
• Develop and deploy AI agents and multi‑agent systems
• Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases and enterprise data sources
• Build scalable backend services and APIs for AI applications
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, etc.)
• Integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise systems and workflows
• Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AI systems in production
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product, data, engineering)

• Strong hands‑on programming in Python (preferred) or similar
• Proven experience building AI/GenAI applications (not just using APIs)
• Experience with:
• AI agents / agent‑based architectures
• RAG pipelines and vector databases
• Strong experience with AWS

• Experience building microservices and APIs

• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect) are a plus
