We are hiring a Senior Software Developer (full-time) to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Houston, Tx. In this role, you will collaborate with the project manager, developers, and database administrators to design, develop, and maintain applications. They also work directly with users to gather requirements, provide support, coordinate with the Data Center Operations team on system migrations, and support other related technical initiatives.

Strong software engineering skills, particularly experience with designing, developing, and maintaining applications or systems, and data analysis expertise, with a strong emphasis on advanced SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and manipulating complex datasets is preferred.

Position Summary

The Senior Software Developer is a lead developer position for highly experienced developers who demonstrate exceptional technical and leadership skills. Leads projects, mentors junior and intermediate developers, and performs Full-Stack application development and system integration using various programming languages and tools, such as SQL, C#, Java, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular

JS, HTML, CSS, APIs, Power Apps, and Power BI. The selected candidate collaborates closely with team members and other business and IT entities at UTHealth Houston. This role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

    Architects end-to-end solutions for complex business problems, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

    Leads by example by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and actively participates in development tasks as needed.
