Senior Software Engineer, Level 3

Job Summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer to support the software engineering lifecycle following the Software Development Plan (SDP), covering requirements analysis, object‑oriented design, coding, unit testing, integration, and support to formal test and delivery.

• Support the complete software engineering lifecycle per SDP.
• Perform low‑level embedded software development.
• Provide support to formal test and delivery processes.

• Experience with programming languages such as C or C++.
• Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience in low‑level embedded software development (BSP, device drivers, bootloaders).
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces, bus protocols, and analog/digital signaling.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for technical challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field.

• Knowledge of Agile software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience with full software life‑cycle development (design, architecture, integration & test).
• Experience with multiple communication protocols.
• Teamwork with multi‑disciplined teams.

Requires U.S. citizenship and a government security clearance prior to starting. Clearance level:

On‑site, full‑time position at a facility requiring special access.

Schedule:

9x80 with every other Friday off.

The annual base salary range for this position varies by location: $93,200 – $164,450 in most states and $107,300 – $185,840 in major metropolitan areas.
