Job Overview
Boys Town and Boys Town National Research Hospital are hiring a Software Developer to code, test, and develop applications and integrations to support the organization. The role is on site, requires full‑time status in the United States, and does not sponsor employment visas.
Major Responsibilities & Duties- Develop, document, and test software that meets system specifications and user requirements.
- Create new software functions, integrations, or modules using the organization’s application platforms.
- Build new software applications or modules with the organization’s standard programming languages.
- Maintain and update existing software applications.
- Collaborate with senior staff regarding software additions or revisions.
- Adhere to project timelines and scope.
- Perform unit testing of application programs.
- Maintain coding standards and naming conventions.
- Develop support materials, including program documentation and operational instructions.
- Knowledge of software development procedures and best practices.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication in an articulate, professional manner.
- Ability to translate complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi‑task while maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge of Microsoft products and relational databases; ability to read and write SQL statements.
- Basic development skills in .NET, Java, XML/JSON, XSLT, and cloud computing.
- Accreditation in Computer Science or a related field (or on track to graduate within 90 days of hire).
- Minimum of two years of programming and development experience.
- Technical certifications.
Other duties may be assigned at times as determined by a supervisor to meet the organization’s needs.
Physical RequirementsThe position is relatively sedentary in a normal office environment involving minimal physical risks and usage of standard office equipment.
