Winchill Consultant
Location:
Houston, TX
A Windchill Consultant designs, implements, and supports PTC Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions. They bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution by mapping out data models, building custom workflows, and integrating Windchill with enterprise systems like ERP, CAD, and MES.
Key Responsibilities- Business Analysis: Lead workshops to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- System Configuration & Customization: Develop and modify Windchill PDMLink, MPMLink, and Project Link. Write server-side extensions, UI configurations, life cycles, and access control rules.
- Integrations: Design and implement integrations between Windchill, CAD/ECAD tools, and enterprise applications using Java, XML, and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Testing & Deployment: Execute functional and integration testing, conduct user training, and support post-go-live hyper care and troubleshooting.
- System Maintenance: Perform system upgrades, data migrations, and performance tuning.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, and Windchill APIs.
- Platform Knowledge: Deep understanding of Windchill architecture, data models, workflows, and change management processes.
