Embedded Software Engineer
- Surgical Robotics

Location:
Houston, TX (on-site role).

Salary range: $130,000-$150,000

Based in Houston, you’ll be part of a team pushing the boundaries of medical technology to deliver safer, less invasive procedures for patients around the world.

What you’ll do:
  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for real-time robotic surgical systems.
  • Work hands-on with hardware, sensors, and actuators to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, systems) to deliver highly reliable solutions in a regulated environment.
  • Contribute to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of embedded software for safety-critical applications.
Must have:
  • 3+ years professional experience in embedded software development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++11 or newer
    .
  • Hands-on experience with embedded software platforms
    .
  • Experience with any RTOS (e.g., QNX, ThreadX, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, etc.).
Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Qt, CTest, Google Test
    .
  • Experience on ARM, ARM
    64, x86, or
    platforms.
  • Exposure to hardware such as Elmo, Beckhoff controllers.
  • Knowledge of interfaces:
    Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO
    .
  • Understanding of protocols:
    EtherCAT, TCP/IP, DDS
    .
  • Prior medical device experience or background in regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, etc.).
