Job Description
We are seeking a robotics engineer to design and develop robotic systems tailored for oil & gas drilling and pipe‑handling applications. The role involves integration of sensors and control systems for autonomous drilling and pipe‑handling, manipulation, and data acquisition, collaboration with cross‑disciplinary teams, development of real‑time control software, field trials, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop robotic systems for oil & gas drilling and pipe‑handling.
- Integrate sensors and control systems for autonomous drilling and pipe‑handling, manipulation, and data acquisition.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to prototype and test robotic control solutions.
- Develop software for real‑time control, telemetry, and remote operation of robotic platforms.
- Conduct field trials and validation tests in simulated and live oil & gas environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Analyze performance data and optimize robotic systems for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Document engineering processes, test results, and system configurations.
- Hands‑on working knowledge of Actin.
- Hands‑on working knowledge of Energid robotic control software.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and ROS.
- Strong understanding of control systems, kinematics, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with sensors used in oil & gas robotics such as ultrasonic, inductive proximity, LiDAR, and pressure sensors.
- Ability to work in field conditions and travel to remote sites as needed.
- Hands‑on knowledge of ROS Industrial 2.0, RViz, Move It, etc.
- Holder of a Bachelor of Computer Science (or equivalent).
$120,000–$130,000 a year.
