Job Summary:

The Senior Service Now Architect will lead solution architecture, technical design, and platform governance for enterprise Service Now solutions. This role will work closely with business analysts, process owners, IT teams, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable platform solutions that improve workflow efficiency, user experience, security, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable Service Now solutions aligned with business objectives, ITIL practices, platform standards, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner with business analysts, process owners, and IT teams to deliver high-quality Service Now applications, workflows, and platform enhancements.
• Own technical design decisions and provide recommendations that balance business needs, platform scalability, security, maintainability, and long-term supportability.
• Analyze requirements, configure and enhance new and existing applications, and create custom UI pages, widgets, workflows, and automation.
• Build and manage Service Catalogs, support accurate CMDB data, and implement IT Operations Management solutions across ITSM, ITOM, Sec Ops, CSM, SPM, SAM, and related modules.
• Create and maintain custom applications, Service Catalog items, fulfillment workflows, self-service portals, and related platform components.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize Service Now performance while supporting security and compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, support testing plans, troubleshoot defects, and help ensure application quality.
• Provide technical guidance to development team members and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Implement Sec Ops modules, support IT operations automation using AIOps and monitoring integrations, and deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs.
• Stay current with Service Now capabilities, emerging technologies, and platform best practices to support innovation and operational excellence.
• Lead solution architecture, technical design, and platform roadmap recommendations for Service Now initiatives.
• Define and document technical architecture, integration patterns, data flows, and solution designs.
• Evaluate requests for platform fit, scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with Service Now best practices.
• Lead design reviews and provide platform governance to help ensure solutions avoid unnecessary customization and reduce technical debt.
• Support integrations between Service Now and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server, or other integration tools.
• Provide guidance on platform upgrades, release planning, technical debt reduction, and long-term maintainability.
• Support work in alignment with internal standards, security expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• 5 or more years of recent experience in an IT Architect role.
• 8 or more years of IT experience working with Service Now configuration, scripting, and development.
• Experience with Service Now modules and capabilities such as ITSM, ITOM, GRC/IRM, Sec Ops, CSM, SPM, SAM, CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
• Proficiency working with ITIL frameworks, automation, and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
• Proven experience designing and implementing ITOM solutions.
• Experience designing Service Now solutions in a complex enterprise environment with multiple stakeholder groups, integrations, and governance requirements.
• Experience leading Service Now architecture and solution design efforts, not only configuration and development work.
• Strong knowledge of Service Now platform architecture, data model, ACLs/security, workflows, Flow Designer, integrations, CMDB, and CSDM concepts.
